Over the first two years, new members have access to exciting learning and social opportunities:

  • Enrolment in horticultural and beginner floral design courses (registration fees for these are included in the Newcomer membership fee)
  • Attendance at 3 different committee meetings to learn about the GCT and join a committee of interest
  • Participate in organized outings, such as a Toronto garden, a nursery, etc.
  • Enter a GCT floral design and horticultural show
  • Receive a mentor and meet others new to the GCT

New members will also learn about the aims and goals of the Club as well as our community involvement and projects.

MEMBERS

Members are encouraged to join at least one committee as a diversity of ideas is welcomed. This can involve approximately two hours a month, depending on the committee.   Meetings are in person, hybrid, and/or virtual to provide greater accessibility.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER

Anyone interested in pursuing Membership is encouraged to read and complete the Membership application below.  If you prefer a printed copy of the form, please contact our office at office@thegardencluboftoronto.ca.

A cheque or e-transfer of $325 must accompany your completed application and details can be found in the below application form.  Annual Membership fees following the first year are currently $290 to ensure the GCT can continue to offer the numerous education and social events for Members.  A portion of the annual fee is considered a charitable donation and all Members receive a tax receipt.

Ideally, new Member applications are submitted by June 15th to ensure you can attend the Fall orientation and beginner education sessions and have your name included in the roster.  That said you are more than welcome to join at any time throughout the year.   Please note, beginner floral design and introductory horticultural courses are only offered in the fall of each year.
