The Growing Years: A History of the Garden Club of Toronto 1946 - 2007
This 156 page hardcover book encompasses 60 years of the Garden Club of Toronto’s contributions to our city. Fourteen public gardens and thousands of trees, flowers and shrubs colour and scent the air of Toronto because club members have recognized the importance of green space. Replete with photographs in both colour and black and white as well as numerous black and white drawings from the Garden Club of Toronto archives, the book follows members' activities from the Club's formation in 1946, through its major flower shows at the O'Keefe Centre, the Automotive Building, The Royal Ontario Museum, and Casa Loma to the present day annual Canada Blooms Flower and Garden Festival at the Metro Convention Centre.
